blogging scores.

I like this class so far. however, on the basis of trying to at least pass the class it would be helpfull to know how our last blog posts were scored. This could effect future blogs.

  1. Hey KC (and all),

Glad you asked (about grades). We'll detail this all in class on Tuesday.

Basically, 3 things involved (detailed on the 'How to Blog' handout on Moodle):

    1. We'll assign numbers to the posts: '1' = 'A bit short--on material from readings, on detail or just on simple lengths. Try a bit more next time.' '2' = 'Just fine.' '3' = 'VERY nice.' None of these numbers equal specific grades, because of 3, below:

    2. If you provide a 'Comment', that scores another point, separately noted on the Moodle Gradebook (up soon for us all to see.)

    3. We'll 'curve' everything and periodically let the whole class know what the average totals are and how they roughly match up to grades.

BUT the goal here is that it should be easy to do well if you simply DO the stuff the syllabus asks. We're assuming that active participation (doing things) should result in a good grade, and any sort of real engagement over time ought to add up to an 'A'
